A source from “Chad One” in N'Djamena revealed the presence of a secret and illegal UAE military base in Amgjaras, raising questions about the contradiction in the official rhetoric of the Chadian government. While the government claims to uphold national sovereignty to the extent of demanding the departure of French forces, it seemingly turns a blind eye to the extension of a covert and unauthorized UAE military operation.According to a report published by *The New York Times* last September, satellite images showed the construction or renovation of aircraft hangars at the base, the deployment of dozens of drones, and the secret transfer of UAE soldiers to the site. Despite the sensitivity of the issue, the matter was neither disclosed to the public nor reported to the Transitional National Council, sparking criticism over a lack of transparency. This comes at a time when the Chadian government is accused of compromising the country's lands in favor of foreign powers. Observers fear that Chad could transform into a “rogue state,” with its territories being used to destabilize neighboring countries or exploit natural resources.
